Last week I was lucky enough to spend a few days in the south of France. My Auntie & Uncle own a house there, making it a perfect little getaway to a beautiful part of the world. Not only is it lovely to spend time with my family that I don’t get to see all that often (and Lottie who granted, I see all of the time!), appreciate the astounding countryside and do very little for a week, it also means I get to go shopping!
On this trip I was quite restrained and didn’t actually buy that much! I have gathered up the little bits I did pick up to share them with you. I chose a couple of things from the supermarkets that I feel sure I have read about on Caroline Hirons’ blog, although I may be wrong. The first is a vanilla scented deodorant called ‘Ushuaia’. It was just over a couple of euros – very inexpensive and so far so good! I have used it a couple of times and it smells lovely and does exactly what you would expect a deodorant to do. I also picked up a bottle of ‘DOP’ Shower Gel, which was just under 2 euros and smells of caramel.
Moving onto the more exciting purchases, we went to Sephora the first day we got there, (we were very excited!). There was only one thing I bought which wasn’t Sephora own brand and that was a trio of face masks from Peter Thomas Roth. I have wanted to try the Pumpkin mask for a really long time but it is so pricey. When I saw this set, of three 15ml masks for 20 euros, I didn’t think twice about popping them in my basket! Included is the Cucumber Gel Mask, the Rose Stem Cell Mask and the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. All full of goodness, I am hoping they are as amazing as they are made out to be and will review on the blog soon!
I then bought a few of their masks, a ‘Rose Lip Mask’, a ‘Honey Sleeping Mask’ and also a ‘Pearl Sheet Mask’. I have never used a lip mask before so was very intrigued. I have used their sheet masks before and really like them, so I bought the ‘Perfecting & Brightening’ one as part of a giveaway prize. Sephora Cream Lip Stains are one of my favourite formulas when it comes to liquid lipstick so I bought one for my mum, (05 Infinite Rose) and also my all time favourite, 01 Always Red, also to give away to one of you! Sephora Pro Makeup Brushes are some of my most used so I bought the ‘Full Coverage Airbrush’, (no.53) to add to my collection. It is such a dinky little thing, I am excited to try it!
The pharmacies were the shops I was most excited to visit as a lot of the skincare they have in France we can’t get in the UK. I chose a Cattier face mask, which was around 4 euros and they are clay masks which are made from natural ingredients. I also picked up a mask from Caudalie which is their ‘Glycolic Peel’ mask – anything with Glycolic Acid in and I am sold! Similarly, with this next product which includes Hyaluronic Acid. It is an eye cream by Leirac and is a gel formula made up of Vitamin C and pure caffeine – if this doesn’t make me look more awake I don’t know what will!
That is everything I bought whilst I was in France, beauty and skincare wise. I chose very selectively and can’t wait to try the things I bought.
