Some of you may know, especially you watch my YouTube videos, that the last few weeks haven’t been the easiest. Why? I can’t exactly put my finger on it, but I have a post planned which should help explain it a little better. I recently mentioned that I have changed my outlook towards blogging. Near the beginning, I made myself a set schedule for both my blog posts and my videos which I tried my best to stick to. I uploaded to YouTube every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, which I still do. Blogging didn’t come as easily to me. I put myself under so much pressure to post every Monday. Wednesday and Friday but I found it isn’t something I could force. If I put pressure on myself to write a post for a certain date, I was coming up with ideas and putting posts together that I wasn’t 100% happy with. I have now come to realise it is all about quality, rather than quantity. Since I have become more relaxed about blogging, I have found a new love for it and I am looking forward to creating content that makes me proud to publish and that you enjoy.
I wasn’t happy with the way my website looked and ran for a really long time. When I first set up my website, I had outside help in creating it, a company that Tommy had worked with before. They were great and they did exactly what I asked – to an extent. My blog wasn’t as crisp, as polished as I would have liked. I don’t want to fall into a stereotypical category, I still very much want my blog to be a reflection of who I am. Last night I decided enough was enough and I wanted to completely overhaul my website, with a new design and look. I have been working on it for the last 24 hours and although I will be making changes here and there for a while I imagine, I am absolutely over the moon with how it looks now. I feel it is now easier to read, to navigate and looks so much more approachable as well as professional. I hope you agree!
Another big thing for me was how it looked on phones, as my last template appeared really squished and out of sequence. Now I don’t have that problem, it appears just the way I want it to on all devices. When I last made big changes to my blog, or should I say, the company I was using made them, I lost so many posts and I was heartbroken. Last night, miraculously they all reappeared! As I have changed dimensions and the layout, a lot of my old posts and pictures unfortunately are appearing distorted or smaller, but it is a price I am willing to pay if it means going forward, my blog will be how I want it to be.
