Rosie for Autograph with Marks & Spencer Beauty

Someone at Marks & Spencer cottoned onto a good thing a couple of years ago. The makeup, beauty and skincare industry has boomed over recent years, whether that is down to YouTube, blogs, the media or just the way in which the world works. If you walk into a shop on the high street that once was all about fashion, you can almost guarantee they will have a makeup line, if not their own then they will be selling someone else’s on their behalf. Some, are doing it better than others. Marks & Spencer have a reputation in this country like no other department store. They are passionate about their history and use that as ground for where they are going to take their business next. You and I both know, that if you want something, whether it be lingerie, an apple pie or a coat for a toddler, Marks & ‘Sparks’ will have it.

Let’s get to the real reason we are here. Marks & Spencer now have a beauty section that would rival a good few other department stores. Not only do they offer more affordable brands but they also stock higher end, premium brands and their own line. What I love most about their beauty section is that it is just that little bit different. They stock brands you don’t see everywhere else, they offer variety and they offer it well. By way of extending their own makeup line, Marks and Spencer collaborated with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley a while ago now and I have been wanting to try the line for so long. I was lucky enough to be sent a few bits and pieces from the range to try out and share with you all if I so wished.

First things first, the packaging is rose gold and it is beautiful. It doesn’t feel as luxurious to hold as some higher end brands, but the Rosie for Autograph line comes in at a much budget friendlier price – it’s all swings and roundabouts. Everything I have tried from the range has been lovely, but for me there are definitely some stand outs. The lipstick is by far my favourite product. I have the shade  ‘Silk Cami’ and it is the perfect, wearable, everyday shade. The consistency is creamy and comfortable and has quite a satin finish. It lasts a good amount of time on the lips and works well on its own or over the top of a liner. Another stand out for me is the bronzer. It isn’t often we are graced with a matte bronzer that isn’t ash nor too orange. The range of shades that these bronzers come in are consistently beautiful – lovely to add just a little colour. Then we come to the eyeshadow sticks, which are available in 4 shades and I have the taupe and the golden bronze. You will probably know by now how much of a fan I am of the KIKO eyeshadow sticks. These are the only other eyeshadow sticks I have come across yet, on the more affordable scale, that are similar to that of KIKO in quality. The ones from the Rosie for Autograph range look to have slightly chunkier flecks of glitter, but last a good length of time on the eyes and are great for on the go.

The next product I want to mention is the mascara. It takes a lot for me to be impressed by a mascara, which I think is the case for a lot of us. This mascara is lovely for everyday. Granted, it is a little pricier than some of my other, everyday mascaras but this one adds more length and flutter than most. Then, we have the cream blusher, which I love and it lasted much longer than others I have tried, but I’m not the biggest fan of the bright pink one I have. There is more of a nude shade which I have my eye on! The last thing I tried was the liquid liner, which I have to say was my least favourite thing and there are definitely others out there which are better and probably almost cheaper than this one. The applicator is fine and the liner is jet black, but it didn’t take long for it to move on my eyelids and didn’t stay looking like winged liner for very long, which is a shame.

Overall, I have been impressed by this offering from Marks and Spencer. They have lots of other products available which I have heard good things about and would definitely try. If you have been thinking about buying from the Rosie for Autograph range for a while and didn’t quite know what to go for, start with the lipsticks and try not to be tempted by everything else! The eyeshadow quads look beautiful too. I am going to sign off now before I convince myself to go shopping. Let me know if you try anything or have done previously from the range!
