PARTY READY WITH YSL BEAUTY

When it comes to getting ready for any kind of party or special event I always reach for brands that I know and love. The festive season brings with it countless nights out and plenty of eating and drinking! With that being said, I need my makeup to last hours upon on hours. I also love to use products which are that little bit more special. For me, getting party ready starts with makeup. Today, I am sharing with you products from YSL Beauty* that I am going to reach for this party season.

The first step is making sure you have done all you can to make your makeup last the whole night. It’s time to prime. The YSL Lip Perfector can be used as a balm before you apply lipstick or simply on its own. As we are coming up to Christmas I will definitely be reaching for the darker, bolder lipsticks. By using the balm as a base, the lip product you go over the top with will go on smoother and won’t cling to any cracks you may have in your lips. Obviously, we want durability, so before I apply my lipstick I always make sure to blot off any excess lip balm.

Moving onto face primer, my favourite kind is one that blurs imperfections and pores, (who doesn’t want that?). If it makes my makeup stay on and look better for longer then that is an added bonus. The YSL Blur Primer is like nothing I have ever used before. On first looking at the bottle it can appear a little off putting, (although very pretty) as it includes tiny flecks of gold glitter. Fear not! The gold glitter doesn’t transfer onto the skin. What you are left with, after massaging in a pump of the product to the areas you most need it is a healthy looking base. When I use this primer, my skin looks almost flawless.

Highlighting concealers are the ones I use the most often underneath my eyes and the Touche Éclat from YSL does a wonderful job of making me look more awake! I pop a little of this product on the points of my face I want to appear lifted. For definition, I go in with bronzer and contour my face. When getting ready for a party I exaggerate everything in my normal makeup routine. So, when it comes to contouring – I chisel the life out of my cheekbones! I then take the Couture Contour Sculpting Palette around the perimeters of the face and make me look healthy! This duo compact also comes with a powder which I use to set my T-zone and also to sharpen up my contour.

If you have watched any of my YouTube videos you will probably know by now that YSL mascaras are my absolute favourite. The packaging of all YSL products is stunning. However, the mascara feels extra luxurious. When do you ever see a mascara so beautifully made? The YSL Luxurious Mascara makes my lashes look so full, long and extra black with just one coat. It is amazing how much a difference just a little of this mascara can make. I don’t need to use false lashes when I use this YSL mascara, it is SO good.

Once I have done everything I need to do to make me look less scary and more party ready, it is time to choose a fragrance. For a sweeter and slightly more feminine fragrance I reach for ‘Mon Paris’ which smells beautiful. It is a modern twist on a floral perfume by being bolder, with top notes of pear but also a hint of musk. If I want something that is a tad unique and more sensual, I reach for ‘Black Opium’. One of the newer releases from YSL but my, oh my is it beautiful. It is completely different to anything else I own. The bottle itself is sophisticated and will stand out amongst others on your dressing table. Like Mon Paris, Black Opium includes white floral scents but also vanilla and black coffee, hence it being that little bit different. I love to really take my time getting ready for a party and I cannot wait to get started! Can it just be December already?
