After filming a few Christmas Gift Guide’s for my YouTube channel I really wanted to do a DIY post on my blog. I had a little look around to gather some ideas and decided this was my favourite DIY Christmas Gift! Perfect for those of you who don’t have a huge budget to spend this Christmas, or just if you are wanting a lovely little present idea which is something a bit different and more personal.
To make the Cookies In A Jar you will need the following –
A Kilner Jar
160g Self-Raising Flour
100g Light Brown Sugar
A pinch of salt
200g M&M’s/Smarties (I chose to use the more festive looking colours!)
Once you have weighed out all of the ingredients you need for the jar, you can start putting it in! Between each layer, I used the end of a rolling pin to flatten the layers down to make everything look neater.
Then, all that is left to do is make the jar look festive! I used a little bit of ribbon and a nice gift tag to spruce the jar up a touch.
To make the cookies, the recipient will need to add the following to the ingredients you have already provided –
125g Unsalted Butter
2tbsp Golden Syrup
1tsp Vanilla Extract
You could write this and also the method of baking on the back of the gift tag! The method of baking can be found on the Good To Know website here, where I found the recipe for the cookies!
