Over the last few years I have become more and more obsessed with candles. Whenever I am in a shop that sells them I have to browse, smell and quite often purchase one. When you develop such a keenness for something you learn to know much more about it. So with candles, I know where to buy them from, which brands to go for, how much I should be spending and what my favourite scents are. At least that is what I thought.
Let me introduce you to a candle I recently bought from Tesco, that was £2.00. I was drawn to this one in particular as the scent is ‘Sweet Vanilla’ which I love. The scent was lovely, very warm and very strong, so I naturally placed it in the trolley. I must admit, I didn’t have high hopes for it. When I spend £15 on a Yankee Candle, I expect it to smell wonderful and to fill the room with the scent. I don’t expect the same from a candle that is a fraction of the price.
The first time I lit this candle I was astounded. It smelt heavenly, and filled the entire room with the scent of sweet vanilla. I am convinced it has the same strength as some of my higher end candles! The label advised it would burn for 30 hours – it did. The packaging is rather basic but for £2.00 this candle is amazing. They had lots of other fragrances too and I am definitely picking more up when I am next doing the big shop!
