Some of you may remember that a few weeks ago now, (I know, I have been a terrible blogger) I took my Mum to London for Mother’s Day. The main event of the day was in the evening, after a day of indulging delicious foods and shopping, we went to The Body Shop on Oxford Street to learn about their newest launch. My Mum is as big a lover of beauty and skincare as I am, I suppose that is where I get it from! When I got the invite from The Body Shop I knew I had to take her to the event and that she would love every minute of it. I wasn’t wrong. The new collection is called ‘British Rose’ and boasts pretty pink, white and black packaging. As you would imagine, the scent of the range is rose and although I am not usually the biggest fan of rose scented things, this is subtle enough for me and quite lovely.
On the night we were treated to different pamper treatments including a massage and a manicure, my Mum was in her element. Whilst I was busying myself taking photos and trying out the products, my mum was walking around handing out my business cards and networking on my behalf! I didn’t ask her to, but she would make someone the perfect PA! After a lovely evening, the next day it was time for me to go through my goodie bag and put the collection to the test. I haven’t had chance to use everything yet, but I can tell you what I think of the products I have.
There are a few makeup bits in the range as well as some bath and shower products. The first to catch my eye was the above palette, which includes 6 eyeshadows and 2 blushers. Obviously, this being the British Rose collection they are mostly pinks with some cooler tones and a black too. As you can see from my swatches, the shadows and blushes offer a lot of pigment and the colours pay off true to how they look in the pan. The blushers seem a little chalky, but stay put on the cheeks for a good length of time and the darker shade reminds me a little of NARS ‘Orgasm’.
The Body Shop have released two new nail varnish shades as part of the collection and the one I have was actually the one I had my nails painted with on the night, it is the shade ‘British Rose’ and is a lovely, subtle, barely there pink. I am not normally one to be a fan of ‘dual purpose’ products but must say I am impressed with their lip and cheek stain. Available in 9 shades, the stains come with a doe foot applicator and can be used as a lip stain or a blush. You have to be careful when applying and the stain as expected is a tad dry on the lips but the colour pay off is spot on.
The rest of the range offers a different scent to some of The Body Shop’s most loved products. The body butter however, has been released in a new formula which is meant to absorb quicker. All in all, this is a very pretty range from The Body Shop. I love when a brand I am fond of launches a collection which adds to an already successful range, you can see the rest of the collection here.
I vlogged the day too, if you wanted a watch!
