Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain Review

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain Review

Last year, brands were launching liquid lipsticks every two seconds. As one take on the product hit one beauty stand, the one across from it was being stocked with its own version of the latest release too. The idea behind the liquid lipstick is that they have the lasting power of a lipstick rather than a gloss, they are as opaque as a regular lipstick and have immense pigmentation. The worry is that with the majority being branded as ‘stains’ that they will be drying on the lips and uncomfortable to wear.
I have tried a few different products like this in the past and the one that sticks out, due to the vastness of the marketing campaign, is the Rimmel Apocalypse. I went out, bought three different colours and would describe them as a ‘meh’ product. I apologise for just typing ‘meh’, but I can’t show you me shrugging my shoulders on a blog! Revlon were a little later than most to release their version, but I would say they were worth the wait as they are one of my favourite ones from the high street.

I picked up the shades Parisian, India Intrigue and New York Scene. The first is a purple shade, second is a deep fuchsia and the third a burnt red. The colour range of this product is phenomenal, there are so many to choose from therefore there will be something for everyone. The Colorstay Moisture Stain has a doe foot applicator which is quite large so makes it easy to apply on the bottom lip. On the top lip you need to be a bit more careful to get the precision you will want as the sponge is on the larger side. The first application looks quite sheer and uneven but feels very wet when it goes on and comfortable. I like to leave it a couple of minutes before re-applying. With the second application, the pigmentation is a lot better, the colour pay off is exactly what it looks like in the tube. Once dry, the stain sits really comfortably and not drying at all.

I am really impressed with this product, they stay on for a reasonable length of time, they aren’t too difficult to apply and are comfortable to wear.
Which shade would you choose?
