Compared to some, 2 years isn’t really a very long time to have been married for at all. Although Tommy & I have been together for 9 years now, we are just starting our lives together – we have got a lot of years left in us yet! I am not one for clichés and when it comes to celebrating I didn’t want to go out for a candlelit dinner or even exchange presents. A walk down the prom with the dogs and a card is enough for me! I did however, want to write a little post today so I could share some pictures with you from our wedding. We got married on the 14th of June, 2014 and this is my first blog post about it. The year we got married I hadn’t started my blog, and last year Tommy took me on a surprise trip to New York! I did upload a Wedding & Relationship Q&A last year on my YouTube channel, which I will link here if you are interested. If I am completely honest, I have found the task quite overwhelming! I am not going to go into too much detail but I hope you enjoy the post nonetheless.
We decided upon a small, intimate wedding in Devon, the South of England. The venue we booked we didn’t actually see until a couple of days before the wedding! (The Internet is a marvellous thing!). It was just as perfect as we had hoped. I am not going to give too much away, I will let the photos speak for themselves but I also think it is important that some details we keep to ourselves. We couldn’t have wished for a better venue, the staff at Milbrook Estate were so lovely and helpful – the day wouldn’t have gone the way it had without our wedding co-ordinator, Lisa! I had chosen the most wonderful hair stylist, Claire Mathers and makeup artist, Eve Ashby, who knew what it was I wanted and were like second mums on the day. They are both very talented ladies indeed. I also need to mention the person responsible for such beautiful photographs. Hannah, from Lifeline Photography was an absolute dream on the day. Her passion and vision was second to none and I can’t recommend her enough. Everyone who contributed in some way to the day, was outstanding. Laura Kingston supplied our flowers and knew just what it was I was after. I didn’t want bouquets that looked made up, I wanted the flowers to look like I had just wandered through a field and picked them fresh. They were beautiful and all of the bridesmaids posies were a little bit different in some way.
As you would expect, the colours of the wedding were kept quite pastel, mainly blush pinks and other soft tones. Tommy wore a Ted Baker suit and obviously, a polka dot tie! I had my bridesmaids, (mine and Tom’s sisters) and Mum getting ready with me the morning of the wedding. My Mum walked me halfway up the aisle, where we met Gramps at the top and he held my hand and gave me away to Tommy. After the ceremony, which took place in a quaint little summer house, we made our way for an Afternoon Tea, surrounded by scones, pink lemonade, hay bales and bunting.We spent the rest of the day, eating, laughing and taking photos. It was better than I had ever imagined it would be. The run up to the wedding wasn’t easy, it was one of the hardest experiences of my life but it was so incredibly worth it. At the end of the day, we just had to remember that it was our wedding and that we were the ones that needed to enjoy it the most. Wonderful memories were made and I will treasure the day forever.

Pure joy in every single word and photo! Each picture was absolutely gorgeous and I was actually getting a little emotional! My two favourites are: the shot of Tommy’s polka dot socks- who would have thought that socks could add a little extra detail about a couple?!- and the photo of you both going through the archway, as I love that you wore converse for fun and comfiness on your special day.
